1999
Founded in Cape Town
Established by Tim Pienaar, GMS Systems emerged from its predecessor GM&S Systems, previously under the ownership of the late Eric Veldsman. Our initial focus centred on high-density yet accessible hanging storage, picking and transportation solutions.
2000s
Range and reach expand
Offerings expanded to a diverse range of shelving solutions and the introduction of goods lifts and overhead conveyor systems. Characterised by the distinctive round tubing G-Tech construction, we began exporting to the USA, UK and the Middle East.
2013
The e-Commerce shift
Emerging e-Commerce enterprises sought GMS Systems for innovative storage and picking solutions, leading to the development of a unique line of cost-effective, carton-based storage solutions.
2016
Automotive assembly
Recognising the synergy between our hanging garment solutions and automotive conveyor systems, automotive manufacturers approached us to devise solutions for storing and transporting vehicle parts through manufacturing and assembly.
